On 1 May 2018 the Wilton Paes de Almeida building in São Paulo caught fire and collapsed, leaving a hundred already-vulnerable families with nowhere to go. The competition asked students to design social housing for that site.
The announcement image was made from ash — burnt wood and concrete, applied and sculpted over coloured paper, figures rising out of the grey into the yellow. The material is the argument: designing a place where families could begin again.

As a partner of Projetar.org and responsable for all the competitions design and communications, I did this one entirely by my own, from concept to production and photography.
